    National Geographic | Fine Art Galleries is seeking an Associate Gallery Director who will help manage our Honolulu Fine Art gallery.  We are offering a very rare opportunity to join one of the most recognized names in the world.  


    Our galleries showcase spectacular pieces by award winning photographers.  If you have a strong sales background and a knack for managing people, we want to talk to you.


    The successful candidate will possess the ability to:  

    • Assist opening our new location at the International Marketplace
    • Assist with hiring and managing gallery team
    • Assist with event and promotional marketing concepts

    Sales Generation:

    • Achieves monthly, quarterly and annual gallery revenue targets
    • Continuously motivates gallery staff to meet assigned productivity and revenue targets.
    • Conduct performance appraisals to assess training needs and build career paths 
    • Conducts trainings on a continuous rotation to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques in order to maximize sell-thru.
    • Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of the National Geographic brand and the gallery collection; ensures selling staff is fluent in all aspects of product knowledge
    • Demonstrates sales leadership for staff by playing an active role on the selling floor
    • Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction through excellent service


    • Schedules Fine Art Consultants to maintain adequate floor coverage while maintaining payroll budgets as a percentage of sales
    • Communicates inventory needs (including artwork not displayed) to support the business goal
    • Monitors the movement of all inventory and ensures that the company adheres to all Shipping/Receiving policies and procedures on behalf of the consumer as their advocate
    • Ensures gallery maintenance, presentation and organization
    • Builds, initiates and maintains effective and continual communication with Senior Manager, Galleries and members of corporate office

    Exhibits proficiency in computer programs used by the Company including: Word, Excel and POS


    Strengths for Success:

    • Prior Fine Art Gallery experience highly desired
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate Fine Art Consultants
    • Ability to create loyalty to the brand and promote sell-through
    • Strong understanding of and connections within the gallery’s market
    • Ability to define strategies for maximizing sales and profits within the gallery
    • Ability to develop and execute viable marketing and event concept
    • Strong issue resolution skills
    • Strong communication skills with staff, customers, and corporate office
    • Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
    • Minimum of 2 years previous gallery/boutique/luxury management experience encompassing all of the essential job functions listed above
    • Previous experience working in a fine art retail environment required
    • Demonstrated ability to increase sales and build revenue and profitability
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute marketing, promotional and event strategies
